Santa Meets the Kids!
Dozens of children at Holt Park Estate, in Hook, came out in force when Santa visited them during the evening of December 8th bringing him their Lions colouring competition entries and letting him know exactly what they hoped he would bring them for Christmas. Santa was in fine form as he handed out lollies and promised to do his best with presents before bidding them all farewell with a cheery Ho Ho Ho!
The Children of Holt Park Estate in Hook, meet Santa with the local Lions club.
THANK YOU everybody who donated money to our Santa as he visited the streets of Hook, Odiham and Hartley Wintney.
THANK YOU too for the spectacles and hearing aids as well!
THANK YOU to all the shops and businesses that donated items to fill our Lions raffle hampers
THANK YOU to everybody that was involved in getting out over 60 Xmas parcels to the older folk and needy in our villages.
THANK YOU for all the colouring competition entries that the children handed ito Santa as he made his way around the streets. LOOK OUT FOR THE RESULTS NEXT MONTH!!!
And finally, but not least, THANK YOU to all the volunteers who came out and assisted the Lions on those cold and damp nights. There were over 30 people involved in getting Santa to your road in December!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!Even More New Lions
Hot on the heels of two new members joining your local Lions club in September, three more have since joined us in the closing months of 2008. Yes we welcomed into our club Gary, from Hook and Linda, from Odiham at our October meeting and Kevin, also from Odiham, at our November meeting. All three have shown how enthusiastic they are about the work we do and have already been involved in a number of our fundraising and welfare activities. Congratulations Gary, Linda and Kevin. But, there is still room for more to join and if you would like to come along to one of our club meetings and to see what happens and meet the other members, then why not call the Lion phone and leave your name and number and our Membership Secretary, Graham, will give you a ring back?
Lions Community Store Did you have something new for the home for Christmas? Does something now need to be moved out? Does it still have a bit of life left in it? How about recycling it? Pots, Pans, Kettles, Blankets, Curtains, Plates, Rugs, Table lamps, Quilts, Mugs, TVs, Coffee Tables, Knives and Forks, Pillow Cases, Single Beds, Small Chairs, Sheets, Peddle Bins Kitchen Tables ......... and so the list goes on! The Community Store will help you keep that Xmas Spirit going on into 2009 if you have something somebody less fortunate could need and you give the store a call. If you would like to help, then they would love to hear from you on the Lions Community Store number; 01252 616 998. Not the Lion Phone number because all we can do is give you their number again. They know what is needed, they know if they can collect it and they probably already know which new home it will go to - 01252 616 998
