Fun Fest
FunFest is an annual fun day organised jointly by a committee made up from 6 local Lions Clubs for people with disabilities or special needs and their families/carers where attractions are offered entirely free of charge to all participants.
The event is usually attended by around 500 people with about 150 Lions running it. It takes the form of stalls/sideshows provided and manned by the Lions Clubs (with small prizes) and various hired professionals providing entertainment such as face painting, inflatables, disco/karaoke, plus attractions such as an animal farm, a balloon race, a climbing wall, steam train, model aircraft, fire engine, helicopter.....
In the afternoon swimming is offered in addition in the adjoining Leisure Centre. A barbecue is run by the Lions at lunch time at a small charge to participants.
FunFest generally takes place on the last Sunday in June and is held on the field behind the joint campus of Calthorpe Park School and Hart Leisure Centre in Hitches Lane, Fleet between 11am and 4pm. Please note that, should the weather be bad, we are able to be inside at the Leisure Centre.
