Hook and Odiham Lions Club (CI0)31 Years of serving the communities of Hook, Odiham, Hartley Wintney and the surrounding villages

In November we were delighted to welcome Alyson Euridge as a new Lion. She was inducted into Lionism by President Terry Cheesman and sponsored by our Secretary Lion Judith Goodchild.

As ever we would welcome new members.   Our website gives details of how to find out more about what we do and how to join us or pop in to one of our meetings.  We meet at The Raven at 7:00pm on the third Monday of the month.

Newlyns Farm  Father Christmas, plus a couple of elves, paid a visit in mid November for their Christmas Fair.  We thank them for the opportunity to collect money at this event.

Odiham Extravaganza  the last Saturday in November, on a rather damp and chill night, saw several of us at this event.  We were raffling two hampers and I am pleased to say that both winners live in Odiham.  Thanks to Newlyns for supplying one of the hampers and for Caviste, Odiham Spice and Castello, Odiham for supplying items for the other one.

We continued fund raising through December with collections in Odiham, Hook and Hartley Wintney and finished by collecting at Tescos on the three days before Christmas.  Many thanks to Tesco for allowing us to collect and for providing us with a voucher to purchase items for our hampers for the Hartley Wintney Street Festival.

We thank everyone for their generous contributions over the Christmas period which will help us to help others in the local community who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Our Lion President Terry and Lion Roger recently accepted an invitation to a reception at Whitewater Health Clinic in Hook.  They took the opportunity to inspect their new Asthma Testing Machine that we recently made a major donation towards.  A Lions logo will be attached to the front of the outer case.

We have also made a contribution towards the Hartley Wintney Lunch held on Christmas Day for those people on their own and have made contributions to families who needed some extra cheer at this time.

Please let us know if you know anyone who is down on their luck and could do with a little help from us by contacting the website or phoning the Lion phone.
