February 2018

Hook and Odiham Lions Club

Serving the communities of Hook, Odiham, Hartley Wintney and the surrounding villages since 1987.

We have re started our Quiz Nights, at The Crooked Billet, on the fourth Monday of every month.  These are being run by Lion Shirley Clancy. Our thanks go to Richard Sanders for allowing us to use his pub.  The first quiz was won by the Early Birds and the quiz was enjoyed by all who attended.  Please look at the website for details of future quizzes.

Once again we are holding Easter Egg raffles in local pubs and other local locations.  In return for buying a £1 ticket you could win a super egg.  Full details are once again on our website.

This will be on Saturday 9th June on Oak Common where we will again be working with Hart Rotary.

Hook and Odiham Lions have agreed to take over the running of the former Hook Show.

Show organiser Lion Terry Cheesman promised " We will try to make it bigger and even better this year, so please make a note of Sunday 15th July in your diaries.

Moving the date from September to July this year means we are hoping for a fine warm summers day for this great village event. If you would like to attend with your stall offering crafts, produce, what-nots, bric-a-brac, games or amusements then please let us know (and include your email address) that you wish to book as soon as possible to avoid missing out or clashing with similar stall types.

We can be contacted by our Lion phone, Facebook or website".

This annual event will take place on Saturday 1st September at The Crooked Billet.  More details later.

Keep Saturday 27th October free to attend this event at Beacon Hill, Odiham.

With all the above events we need help. If you would like to help then please contact the website.  If you would like to find out more about Lions we would be pleased to answer your questions.  We meet on the third Monday of the month at The Raven in Hook at 7:00pm

Do you need help? Do you know somebody that needs help? Is it the kind of help that Lions can give? Is it something that none of the usual social services or councils can help with? Something that nobody seems to know how to get done? Does it seem like too small a problem to bother people with? Is it so big a problem that nobody seems to want to get involved with? Talk with Lions? That’s why we exist!!! We care when nobody else seems to. Why not contact Lions with the problem and have a chat with somebody that cares and wants to help, if it is all possible?
